Casino Night and Dinner 2015
For an exciting evening of dinner and gambling, join us for Casino Night on Saturday, February 7 from 6 to 10 pm at the Austin County Fairgrounds. Your $50 entry fee brings you dinner and dessert catered by Yani’s Steakhouse, a beverage mug and $10,000 in CASA BUCKS for the games! If poker is your game, there is a Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament from 7 to 9 pm with a $75 entry fee. There will be lots of winners, with door prizes, raffles, a silent auction and you can spend your CASA BUCKS at the end of the evening. But the biggest winners will be the children we serve because your donations help support the training and supervision of our CASAs – Court Appointed Special Advocates. Today, 100% of the children in CPS care in our counties of Austin, Colorado, Waller and Washington Counties have a CASA because generous individuals like you understand the difference a CASA can make in the life of a child. Research shows that children with CASA volunteers, as compared with children in foster care who do not have CASAs, are substantially less likely to spend time in long-term foster care, more likely to be adopted and half as likely to re-enter foster care. They do better in school, are more likely to pass all of their courses and less likely to have poor conduct in school or to be expelled. The child in foster care who has a CASA has the prospect of a brighter future than the child who does not. The tickets are going fast, so plan to get yours soon.
