History at Night program at San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site - "From Frontier to Frothy Mug'

Thursday, March 26, 2026 (6:00 PM - 7:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

It is time to start getting excited for our next History at Night program! On Thursday March 26th, join us and Gavin Mičulka (Site Manager at Kreische Brewery) for "From Frontier to Frothy Mug."

Today, Texas-born beers are recognized around the world, but it wasn't always that way. Beer often took a back seat to distilled spirits in the early 19th century, yet Texans still sought it out: importing brews from the eastern United States and Europe, crafting their own in home kitchens, and eventually supporting small local breweries.

Discover how Texas brewing pioneers combined centuries-old traditions, immigrant craftsmanship, frontier resourcefulness, and a bold entrepreneurial spirit to brew up the foundations for the beloved Texas beers we know today.
